Lowhill Township has entered into a contract with Forgotten Felines & Fidos and The Sanctuary at Haafsville to provide Feral Cat Sterilization (TNR) Services. What this means to residents is if there is a colony of cats living near your home (and their left ear is NOT tipped), and you wish to hep control the Feral cat population, please read the following information carefully before booking your Feral Cat sterilization appointment. Any other veterinary services provided by these Feral Cat organizations will not be reimbursed by the Township with this Feral Cat Program. These aforementioned Feral Cat organizations will also set up their own spay/neuter appointments with their own veterinary practices and will charge additional fees for any type of treatment for pregnant, sick or injured cat.
Please note: Only three cats may be spaded or neutered from a single property for the entire year. This program is strictly operated on a first come first serve basis and is subject to end before the ned of the calendar year when all Township funds for the entire Feral Cat program have been expended.

To schedule an Appointment For Feral Cat Sterilization Services:
Residents of the Township can reach out to Forgotten Felines and or the Sanctuary at Haafsville at the website and physical address and phone numbers below to schedule an appointment for sterilization services after receiving a written voucher for reimbursement by the Township. The resident must provide proof of residency within Lowhill Township to obtain this written voucher. A link is provided below to download the Lowhill Township application for a Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Reimbursement (TNR) Voucher. You must sign this voucher and bring the original voucher application signed by the Township official to your Feral Cat sterilization services appointment. Appointments for Feral Cats are not guaranteed but will be provided to Lowhill Township residents when Lowhill Township funds are available or have not been exhausted for the Calendar year.
All feral cats must be transported in a trap or cat carrier with newspaper in the bottom and covered with a sheet or towel when being brought in for your appointment if caught in a trap. If needed, the Township residents can borrow traps from Forgotten Felines or Sanctuary at Haafsville with a refundable deposit fee as set by each organization upon return of the trap in a working condition. Each organization will provide contacts and referrals to assist you with successfully trapping of the Feral Cat on your property.
In addition, the Sanctuary at Haafsville will hold a stray friendly cat for 72 hours while actively attempting to return the cat to its original owner. At the end of the 72 hour holding time period, the stray friendly cat will be made available for adoption.
Lastly, if you trap any injured cat at or come across a deceased cat, you are encouraged to take the cat to a veterinarian to be scanned for a microchip to receive necessary medical care and provide closure for their owner. Neither organization excepts deceased cats. Thank you.
